Intel Atom C3000 Denverton – first look at the new intel processors for mini-servers

Little by little, first details of the new intel Atom C3000 “Denverton” processors are being released, which have been under development for many years. The preceding processors of the intel Atom C2000 (“Avoton” / “Rangeley”) processor family have been on the market since mid-2013 without major updates. Also, the Atom C2000 processors appeared in the media recently in rather unpleasant context.

One of the first already available intel Atom C3000 processors is the dual-core processor intel Atom C3338. The CPU offers 2 x 1.5GHz as well as 4MB cache, has a TDP of 9W and can address up to 64GB DDR4-1866 RAM with ECC. In addition, up to 10 x SATA-6Gb/s ports as well as up to four 1.0/2.5 GbE LAN ports can be managed:

The Supermicro A2SDi-2C-HLN4F will be among the first mini ITX motherboards based on the Atom C3338. It has been unofficially announced, but – as of March 2017 – is not yet listed on the website at SuperMicro.
